Children
learn best when things are meaningful, interactive, hands-on and fun.
At Busy Bee Academy, our curriculum is created to foster little minds that are ready to
learn about the world. Specifically, each day our
curriculum will highlight these important subject areas: Science
exploration, Early Mathematics, Literacy, Fine Motor Skills, Gross Motor
Skills, and Social Studies.
|
|
Time
in the classroom will be divided among individual, small group, and
large group circle time lessons. Our
activities are not the pre-packaged imitation of adult models found in
traditional preschools. Children experiment with a variety of
medias, from tempera to pastels, from collages of natural materials to
origami paper. Our school
promotes the adventure and process of learning, not the final
outcome. |

|
|

|
The pivotal part of our day
will be our small group time. A teacher will sit down with a small group
of children of the same developmental level.
Together the group will tackle an academic project that is
intended to challenge and make real discoveries.
The small group allows us to assess each child, give one-on-one
instruction and promote children to work together.
|
|
Children will also have
time during the day to utilize our learning centers. These centers
include: writing/art area, science area, computer area, library corner,
dramatic play area, manipulative area, block corner, and sand and water
tables. This play time is
meant to stimulate curiosity and independence.
Teachers will continuously add new materials to the learning
centers to foster curiosity and promote new learning discoveries.
